Summary: Good dvd
Comment: The dvd is good because you can watch it and see what he is doing. You can then go practice and move on when your ready. The picture looks pretty old but isnt any concern. If your looking to learn the speed bag, this is a great video to pick up.

Summary: Gift for my husband!
Comment: My husband got a speed bag for Christmas. He needed instruction as everyone thinks they know how to use a speed bag from watching TV, but they really don't understand how to use it correctly. This DVD is fine quality, the instructions make sense and are easy to follow and my husband is progressing very well. He loves the DVD and his speed bag.

Summary: Don't just learn to speed bag.
Comment: Learn to do amazing things on the bag that most boxers never learn to do. This video teaches you all of the authors techniques and breaks them down into basic movements. It's extremely detailed but easy to follow. After just watching it once I was able to pick up a new technique in only a few minutes. I recommend it to anyone who owns a speed bag.

Summary: would never have figuerd out myself in a million years
Comment: I bought a speed bag after watching "Million Dollar Baby." It took me a few days to get the basic triplet rhythm and a few more to get bored with the bag. I stumbled on this video at the speed bag central website. After watching a few clips I decided to purchase. The instructional starts out slow but gets into technique shortly after the intro.
I thought the bag was a mere training aid for boxers, but this video has shown me it is actually a full featured percussion instrument with the side effects of giving a terrific workout and improving boxing skill. The increased possibilities Alan demonstrates and breaks down will make a mundane speed bag workout much more interesting and enjoyable. My knuckles hurt...

Summary: Great help with a big glitch
Comment: Anyone wanting to learn everything about using the speed bag for exercise and entertainment will love the information this DVD.
It shows the various types of equipment, and how to set it up.
The program explins how to modify the equipment to make it better.
The Speed bag instructions for use are easy to understand, shown step by step, and are described in detail so any one can use the speed bag like a pro if they practice what is taught. Not only can you see what the technique is, but you'll be able to hear the rhythm of the bag.
The problem is this DVD was taken directly from a VHS tape, and was not split up into different chapters, or segments. If this was a VHS tape, you just take it out of the machine when you have seen enough to practice on, pull the tape out, and re-insert the tape back to the same point of the program when you restart it.
But DVD's work from the start of the disc when inserted. So, if you watch the DVD for the first 20 minutes, then take the DVD out, (like to watch something else on your player), and put the DVD back in, you will have to fast forward past the first 20 minutes. And as time goes on, if you use your DVD player for movies, you will be having to rewind this DVD past the first 30 minutes, 40 minutes, hour, hour + 20 minutes, etc, etc, etc.
I have been inclined to keep the DVD in the DVD player until I learn everything on the DVD - (might take 4 months) or buy another DVD player to watch movies on, rather than have to fast forward through up to 2 hours of the program.
