THIS MOUNT�S TRIANGULATED ARM GRIPS YOUR DOWNTUBE FIRMLY IN ITS TALON. BUT IT DOESN�T SCRATCH YOUR PAINT. BECAUSE THE PADDED LOCKING JAWS TREAT YOUR BIKE FAR MORE GENTLY THAN ITS KIND-OF-SCARY NAME IMPLIES. Fits 1� to 3� diameter downtubes (most shapes). Secures wheels with racheting wheelstraps. Fits round and square crossbars equally well. Compatible with factory crossbars when you add MightyMounts (SOLD SEPARATELY).

Summary: Works as promised
Comment: Product is sturdy and of high quality. Assembling it is relatively straightforward. I used it and was satisfied with ease of mounting and dismounting of bikes.
The only caveat is with regards to the clips that connect it to the root rack. They fit square or round profile racks but not the elongated type. For these you would need to order the "mighty clips" (check it out before you do)
