Summary: White Coat Hypertension Proven!
Comment: I kept telling my doctor that the only time I showed really high readings were in his office and he was not convinced. He asked me to buy this specific machine. The download program made it that much easier to show the true record of BPs over a period of two weeks. It is no the most intuitive of downloads but I'm comfortable enough with computers. It worked and now my doctor believes me! Thank you.

Comment: It is a nice product. Though, I have not tested it rigrously, it seems to be gr8 .I'll be sending it to my parent for use. The best thing is connectivity with computer as you can store much more information records.

Summary: Omron HEM-790IT Blood Pressure Monitor Never Same Results Twice
Comment: I've been using the Omron HEM-790IT monitor for almost a month now and I'm not impressed with it. It seems that the arm cuff can't stay tight while the monitor is running. I hear the velcro crackling while the test is underway. I've tried the cuff tight, loose, lower, higher on my arm. Always get the velcro crackling on each test!

When I run tests right after each other I get different results. This is not good thing. It makes me wonder which is the correct (if any) result.

If Omron replaced the arm cuff with one like a doctor has (a velcro strap with a metal tightening bar, this machine would probably be reliable. Otherwise, the flimsy arm cuff seems to be a major problem.

As for the unit itself, it is a nice piece of electronics. I just wish I could get the same readings twice!

Este equipo lo importe desde USA hasta Ecuador con mi servicio de importaciones privado para mi madre y mi abuela. Perfecto estado de envío. Tiene muchos accesorios y un manual fácil de leer y comprender. Vivo en una ciudad a 2500 metros sobre el nivel del mar y la precisión del instrumento no se ve afectada significativamente. El registro interno es muy util por que se lo puede exportar a una PC e imprimirlo para llevar control grafico y estadístico. La precision del instrumento depende del correcto posicionamiento de la banda (ojo con esto, he leido quejas que se dan errores de medicion e inexactitud que no son validas). Debe colocárselo de manera exacta porque sino los resultados pueden verse afectados.
El sistema TruRead con tres mediciones consecutivas a intervalos exactos es lo que garantiza una medición mas confiable.
Funciona conectado a una entrada de corriente AC o tambien solo con las baterias, lo cual le hace muy portátil y útil en caso de emergencia o para medir en un lugar donde no haya un tomacorriente.
