Customer Rating: Summary: Where it's good, it's great; where it's not good... Comment: This is a tough review to write. The 'pros' are very strong, but the 'cons' are pretty strong too. Overall, I like this watch and wear it, but would be reluctant to recommend it to anyone else.
Pro:
-Accurate; it's a quartz movement, so this should go without saying but it stays accurate to at least +/-10 sec a month per a radio controlled clock/atomic clock repeater.
-Tough and reliable; the water-resistance is rated for 200m, and although I haven't put it to that test, it has gone through extended snorkeling without a problem, and survives day-to-day banging about very well.
-Looks; yeah, it has the weight and general appearance of a Rolex GMT. It's a handsome watch if you like a largish, solid looking watch. Not quite as over-the-top, in yer face, macho as a submariner style watch, but a little more discrete and refined.
-Price; You can get a really accurate, handsome watch for under $100. Good deal.
Con:
-The movement; the GMT 'fourth hand' has issues. It is not independent like other four-hand GMT watches, and that is where the problems start. It is a royal hassle to change your second time zone/GMT time hand in less than twenty minutes. With an independent fourth hand, it takes less than a minute. The hour hand has to be 'registered' to the minute hand or else it doesn't point cleanly to the hour when the minute hand is on 12, and it has to be re-aligned when you change the fourth hand setting. Trying to set the date and the second time zone is also complicated by the absense of an easily felt 'click' in the middle position for setting these features.
In short, the movement was designed and made by a company not quite up to the task. Sad that this movement was installed in such a handsome case and bracelet.
I might get another Invicta, but it will be a simpler movement. Sadly, I can't really recommend Invicta to others.
Customer Rating: Summary: Nice Watch To Have! Comment: Even though I collect Diving and Submarine watches, I had to have this in my collection. Why? This watch is water resistant to 200 meters which enters the professional arena. The watch has a nice stainless steel bracelet unsuitable for wet suits divers, but it has a nice heavy feeling weight. Also, the watch is a GMT which gives you military and two zones time. I don't see to many wristwatches with this characteristics and specs under this price range. I noticed the second hand does not align correctly every time with division markers, but you have to look hard. Also, the price may be a little high when you consider the Invicta model 8926 (this model made some watch aficionados think if Rolex watches are really worth the money) may sell for less. Other than that, the watch is fine and I must say Invicta does it again. For $49.99, I would give this watch a 5-star rating!
