Editorial Reviews:

Francis Ouimet (1893-1967) was an unknown twenty-year-old amateur and former caddie when he upset famed British golfers Harry Vardon and Ted Ray to win the 1913 U.S. Open. That astonishing victory with 10-year-old caddie Eddie Lowery at his side, playing at The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts, made him America's first golf hero and forever altered the image of golf as a stuffy, rich man's game dominated by players from England and Scotland.

Ouimet went on to a distinguished amateur golf career, winning the U.S. Amateur in 1914 and 1931, playing on the first eight Walker Cup teams, and captaining the next four teams, compiling an 11-1 team record. One of the most revered golfers in the history of the game, he was an original member of golf's Hall of Fame, and was the first American elected captain of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews.

Summary: Neat Book
Comment: I found the book very interesting overall. There are some parts that drag on but all in all a neat book. It tells the details of a great golfer Francis Ouimet. It was written in the 1930s and I am sure some of the details have been sugar coated but if a person like history and likes golf you will like this book!
