The sizing is standard, the big toe is protected. When they get wet, it seems to take a while for them to dry out - so your foot stays wet a long time unless you take them off and let them dry before wearing again. The "Trooper/Surf Spray" is a nice color with jeans. I've gotten many compliments on these. I just washed them - in the washing machine as recommended - and am disappointed - they didn't get clean, though I did use "delicate wash". I also see that a bit of the sole is peeling - I've only had these about 1 month. I have been thinking of getting a second pair because they are so comfortable, but I think I will wait and see if these last a while - they're not cheap!
