I am a big proponent of the flip tops, the biggest reason of course is the flip up safety feature. You have to insert your finger and flip the top up in order to fire the unit. This will reduce the chance of accidental firing.The flip-top stream fires approx. 10-12 feet, while the medium fog fires 6 - 8 feet.
We recommend the Medium foggers for civilian use. These units do not require pin point accuracy and do not disperse all contents as quickly as the stream units. The downside to the fog is the aftermath of spray floating around and the shorter spray distance. There are good arguments for both units, but you need to decide which you will be more comfortable with. These units also contain UV dye.

I talked to a police officer who uses Sabre Red pepper spray. Sabre Red is what he uses on someone who is low on the resistance level. He uses FOX Labs for someone who is dangerous and extremely violent. HE said it has worked every time. If you are looking for a good pepper spray that is legal in all states I would get the Fox Labs 5.3 formula. The quality and effectiveness of this product is unsurpassed by any other product I have seen in use.
