Neckpro is a home, over the door unit for cervical traction. It may be used for the relief of neck pain associated with cervical disc herniation, spondylosis, osteoarthritis, cervical radiculopathy, neck strain, pinched nerve in upper spine with associated pain radiating down upper extremities, tension and/or tightness (muscle spasm) in muscles of the upper back, shoulders and neck, fibromyalgia, whiplash, insomnia and tension headaches associated with tension in the aforementioned musculature. Conventional home overdoor traction systems utilize a bag of water and patient trial and error determining the appropriate amount of traction poundage. Neckpro eliminates this old process by coupling a computer designed precision-made compression spring with a unique ratcheting device that delivers a more precise amount of cervical traction tension. Each click of the ratchet audibly signals an increase in the tension being applied. This not only allows traction to be delivered in a progressive format similar to what they experience in a clinical setting, but the audible click allows the patient to monitor and keep track of the settings that provide a positive outcome. The specially designed head halter is easy to apply and comfortable even under high levels of cervical traction tension. Neckpro Overdoor Cervical Traction System includes Neckpro compression spring & racket assembly, head halter and overdoor bracket (fits doors measuring up to 1.5" (3.8 cm) in thickness. Customer Rating: Summary: I wouldn't know how it works as I haven't been able to use it Comment: I received this product about a month ago and was excited at the prospect of relieving my neck, shoulder and back pain. When I went to use it I realized that the bracket didn't fit over a single door in my house. I know I should have measured the doors first, but I thought they were a standard size.
I had to email the company twice before they responded that I could purchase a bigger bracket for $23.
I tried to give it NO STARS, but the site won't allow that.
I am not pleased.
Customer Rating: Summary: Neck Traction Comment: I purchased this neck traction device after my neurologist suggested that it would help take pressure off my pinched nerve at C7. It was easy to use and worked well in reducing the pressure to my neck/spine area. I was instructed by my neurologist to use it twice a day for 10 minutes with 8 to 10 pound pressure.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great for neck pain Comment: I've suffered with chronic neck pain for years. I now see a chiro on a regular basis and take a powdered Magnesium supplement to help but when the pain gets ahead of me sometimes, I use this to get immediate relief. It really takes the pressure off of the nerves and lets the muscles stretch and relax.
Customer Rating: Summary: It was great for until...... Comment: What a great product, easy to set up, easy to maintain. So one day I was stretching my neck, one of my friends came over with some beers, so we had a neck stretching party. What a great time for me and my neck. We quickly ran out of beer, so I went to get some more. While I was away, buying more liquor, my friend decided to stretch his neck more. So while he was stretching his neck, he slipped and fell, Neckpro became a deadly noose. Once I got home, he was turning blue. Blue.... I tried to rip Neckpro off him, but because it was such a good product, it did not break!!!! I had to get a big axe and break the door instead!!! So be careful with drinking while enjoying your neck stretching.
Customer Rating: Summary: Ouch! Comment: In all fairness I needed surgery (went fine, thank you!) so this product didn't help at all. But just be forewarned, any more than a few minutes in this thing seems to crush your head. I would have liked there to be a spreader bar to keep the pressure off my jaw. God knows when you have one thing wrong with you, you don't need to damage something else. Use caution with this...there are other devices to consider.
