Customer Rating: Summary: Great set if you are willing to jerry rig it a little bit Comment: The set has really nice metal poles that won't bend (unlike many cheaper priced sets that have PVC plastic which I tried once and it was a miserable failure!) The plastic stakes that fit into the end of the poles are crap and will break, but they really aren't necessary. It comes with two types of guide ropes to secure the poles to the ground. The top guide rope works fine but the bottom guide rope that attaches in the middle of the pole doesn't hold its tension very well. Thus, you will have to find a way to secure the guide rope (I just used a piece of rope and thread it through the tension clip back to the hole in the middle part of the pole). If you can jerry rig this part of the guide rope then overall it's a great set and much better than any comparable set with PVC poles. Customer Rating: Summary: Quick and easy Comment: This set is high quality and very easy to assemble and set up. My 13 year old did it with very little help. We were ready to play volleyball with quality equipment in a snap. Customer Rating: Summary: Great backyard volleyball set Comment: This is great for any family - it's portable, easy to set up, and good value for the price! Customer Rating: Summary: not as bad as chari says Comment: Great shipping...had it in 2 business days and paid for regular UPS. Nice case, nice ball, nice net, 1 1/2 inch poles....DON'T use the plastic anchors....DON'T set it up alone!...I did, but struggled a bit...there are metal anchors(at least I think they are anchors, not mentioned in description, but I dug a "small" hole and forced them down and added a little rockish filler)...still have not had much luck with the "tension clips".....but was lucky enough to have 2 natural anchors using my own rope(tree and a high fence)....backyard party and going to leave it up....only had 25' width to work with, but carefully wrapped net around poles...note: if you do this, put the top bolt in first and hook net before rolling....but again, get some help...hats off to chari tho for getting it up alone, I'm 6'2 and had a time. Customer Rating: Summary: More than $20 worth of frustration Comment: The thing to remember with this volleyball set is the price - you can only expect so much for under $20. This isn't a horrible set, but for me it was a frustrating one. First of all, the case that it comes in is surprisingly nice for the price...fairly sturdy and with wheels on the bottom. In my opinion you have two choices with this set: either you set this up above ground and do not use the pole anchors, or you have to have help. I set this up by myself and had the first pole anchor very easily bend while trying to set the pole, and the second one simply snapped off (which I would assume was a defect as the ground was definitely not that hard). So if you do want to use the anchors push them in VERY carefully and have someone hold the poles upright while you set the anchors. While on the topic of anchors, don't trust the knots as I had 3 out of the 4 simply unravel while pushing these in. It would have been far easier for me to tie them correctly myself before starting the setup of the net, than to try and fix it once started. Lastly, the ball itself is actually surprisingly decent for the price. I intend to give this set away and try the Halex to see if it's any better.
