Absorbs the ultraviolet rays which often makes outdoor photographs hazy and indistinct. A muliti-purpose fine-weather filter for color as well as black and white films. Also serves as a permanent lens protector. HMC (Hoya Multi-Coating) These popular filters are renowned for their ability to minimise reflection at the filter surfaces which reduces flare and ghosting. The result is an average light transmission of over 97%, giving sharp contrast and well balanced color. HOYA HMC filters are recommended for enhancing the performance of today's multicoated lenses.

Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent Comment: Usual Hoya build quality, this is one of those rare filters that I've tested to show NO difference in photo quality with and without the filter. It's staying on the lens.
Customer Rating: Summary: Cheap Insurance Comment: Some people claim that filters degrade image quality. Whether or not that's true remains to be seen, but a filter degrades the image less than a cracked front element. I keep mine on my Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 all the time.
Customer Rating: Summary: filter Comment: Good product, good price, works the way it should, save your lens from that dent.
Customer Rating: Summary: the filter works well Comment: the UV filter works good, the pics i tooke looks like the ones without it,and it's delivery is on time. however , just like most UV, it leads to dark corner sometimes.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great wat to protect your lens Comment: I bought this mainly to protect my front lens surface. It doesn't decrease image quality at all and I highly recommend using this as protection.
