It has replaced rice in my usual dinner recipes. I find it needs a little salt and if available some other flavoring (garlic, veggie, broth, etc.). It also reheats well in the microwave. - The subscription plan is also convenient, especially since my local grocery doesn't stock this stuff (for now).

If you are not familiar with quinoa, it is a mildly nutty-flavored, chewy and hearty grain that makes a great rice substitute. It's pretty versatile, as you can use it to make soups and salads as well. Bob's Red Mill products, while not cheap, are universally high quality. With one cup of dry quinoa making enough for a side dish for 2-3 people, a 26-ounce package goes a long way. If you are a rice fan, give this product a try: I guarantee you will like it.
Customer Rating:      Summary: Delicious AND healthy! Wow! Comment: I've recently made efforts to eat better and, let me tell you, ALL of Bob's Red Mill products are a godsend. Quinoa is easy to make, versatile, and packs some serious health benefits. The package it comes in doesn't look like much but the seeds cook up to 4 times their size, easily. So a little goes a long way both in that sense and that it's pretty filling too! I use it as a side dish, in soups and stews, and I imagine that with the right ingredients it could be used for breakfast as well!
I'm a carb addict and this, while not low carb, is definitely better than the empty and processsed carbs that I used to eat. If you're looking for a low carb option that's similar to rice, check out TVP granules. Only 3 effective carbs per serving and even easier to make than this stuff!
