Customer Rating: Summary: Sickly sweet, but works well. Comment: Using this as a post-workout drink, my energy level's much higher than normal. I came in exhausted, spent a bit downing the shake, and within an hour was up and ready to go. Good stuff. I recommend against the "fruit punch" flavor, though... it's nauseatingly sweet (took me nearly half an hour to drink to keep from throwing it up, to be honest). So if you already have problems eating/drinking after exercise (and especially if saccharine flavors make you sick) I'd go for a different flavor. I'm just gonna suffer through it until I get another batch. If I don't update, you can assume the vanilla is much better :-D
Customer Rating: Summary: Endurox, you rock Comment: This product has proven to be as good at exercise recovery as my friends had claimed. After hard 15 - 20 mile hikes, we recover with Endurox mixed with a whey protein mix and our exercise recovery time is greatly decreased.
I'll keep using it.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great for swimmers too Comment: I'm training for a 20k swim so I swim plenty of yards/meters/miles per day. I swim for at least 1.5 hours 5 days/week, then go to work. If I don't drink this recovery drink afterwards, I'm falling asleep at my desk. I haven't really tried other recovery drinks yet, but this one definitely works. I also used it when I was running.
Customer Rating: Summary: Works for me ! Comment: I've been using this for years. I have experienced a big difference in recovery, expecially after long runs on hot days.
Customer Rating: Summary: Effective with a likable flavor Comment: I've used R4 for over 10 years. For me, it keeps the calf muscle cramps at bay and diminishes my post run fatigue after a 2 hour or so trail run. I'd recommend buying sample sizes of several flavors before purchasing a large container. The flavors are truly a matter of personal taste: I like the vanilla and fruit punch flavors and not the orange or chocolate. Also, some flavors agree with my stomach better as post race beverages (the vanilla), while others I can take in a sports bottle during the run (the fruit punch). The lemon lime in the Accelerade version also suits my stomach, as a chllled post race drink. All are better with cold water, in my opinion.
On a side note, the vanilla mixed with a bit of powdered milk makes a good coffee creamer for backpacking. I'm not sure if the heat of the coffee kills the effectiveness of the R4 ingredients. Maybe Endurox will come out with a Coffee Latte flavor? :)
