Summary: WHAT A GREAT BASKETBALL DVD!
Comment: This DVD demonstrates all of the basic techniques of the game in a clear and understandable way. My boys love this DVD. They can easly see how to execute each technique through the slow motion and graphic demonstrations. This program is not for the advanced player, but for teaching and refreshing basic basketball techniques it can not be beat. IT IS A MUST BUY! --- And the practice schedule CD included in the case makes this a great bargin.

Summary: Regarding "Baskteball Camp 101" DVD
Comment: My personal opinion of this video is as stated:
I feel this program focuses strongly on the most basic aspects of beginner basketball. If you wish to purchase this video, please understand that it will only show you 1 or a few drills in each of the fundamentals of playing the sport (i.e. basic: shooting, guarding, dribbling, etc). Also, understand that the participants in the video are experienced and do purposely make mistakes, which then the narrator will explain what the mistakes were.
I have purchased a number of basketball videos and books and feel that this program is fits properly with star rating I gave.
Do recommend for newcomers to basketball.
Do NOT recommend for beginners that understand the fundamentals. (In which case I recommend the Steve Nash MVP DVD program)

Summary: Not very good - disappointing
Comment: I too am a first time coach, but I have played basketball in school and leagues for a number of years. The video is slow and lacks any real wisdom about the game. There is not enough focus on drills and ways to "coach" new players on fundaments. "Dribbling and Shooting are important" - Yes, thank you, I got that. How about something a little more indepth? A serious basketball fan could have made something similar. I do not reccomend.

Summary: What a Bargain- Great Video Great Price!
Comment: I have owned the VHS tape for approximately three years and think it's such a great Instructional video that I just ordered the new DVD version!
I have recommended and loaned the tape to parents and coaches, who want to teach their children the fundamentals of basketball, so many times, that I figured I might as well keep the Tape as a loaner.
I have coached Fastpitch Softball for eight years, at the Recreation Level and High School, and my philosophy is that "As Overall Team Skills increase so does our Team's chances to Win". I have never sacrificed a young child's opportunity to learn for a "Win at All Cost" attitude. Basketball Camp 101 helps a coach to that for this sport, i.e., Learn the Fundamental Skills of Basketball!
Being new to Basketball, I started looking for a Fundamental Instructional video for my then 10 year old daughter. With the average price of a video going for $30 to $40, I wondered, what could a tape that costs under $20.00 provided me? Well how's about a "Telly Award"! How's about a video geared for both boys and girls with Natalie Williams, a Gold Medalist and WNBA player, as a role model for my young daughter! Plus it provides a simple Common Sense approach to Teaching Basketball. This is not a "Strategy to Win" tape, but a "How To" help your child/players learn skills that make them better basketball players video!
That's what I was looking for and that's what I got and more. I could go on and on, but for only 20 bucks, you can find out for yourself.
Lastly, will my daughter ever become a WNBA Player, get a college scholarship, or even make her High School Team? Who knows, that requires determination and hard work that only She can determine, but knowing what to work on, makes her work more productive and efficient. I also know that she has become a better player and she feels good about her play and that makes me happy for her, I feel that's what "Basketball Camp 101" has done for us!
