Editorial Reviews:

Invicta's Embossed Diver automatic watch (model 2248) is perfect for the serious diver who also wants to turn heads with a stylish watch--a great match for both men and women. The round silver stainless steel watch case measures 43mm (1.7 inches) and has a blue unidirectional rotating bezel with silver embossed markings. The blue dial background features Tritnite luminous dotted dial markers and hands (with seconds hand) and a date function at 3 o'clock. The highly polished silver stainless steel bracelet band is joined with a safety clasp. Other features include water resistance to 200 meters (660 feet), mineral crystal with magnifier, and see-through caseback.

An automatic watch is a mechanical watch that is self-winding. the movement of your wrist and body causes the rotor--a weight attached to an automatic winding mechanism--to wind up the watch. This automatic watch has 21 jewels, which are ruby stones that the gears turn on to protect the metal parts from grinding together. An automatic watch needs no battery, but it will stop if now worn for over a day or if you have been physically inactive for an extended period of time. If this happens, wind the crown ten times clockwise to start the watch and five it some reserve power.

Tritnite is a luminous material with an extended glow exclusively developed by Invicta in Switzerland and added to their timepiece hands and markers. When exposed to regular daylight, it will hold its glow for about 20 hours.

Summary: Great Watch For The Price!!!
Comment: If you're looking for an attractive, stylish watch that is also very functional and reasonably priced, then I highly recommend this great diver's watch.

The overall design is very handsome with the blue face and bezel. It is strikingly similar to the Omega Seamaster (for a fraction of the price) which is one of the reasons I decided to buy it. The automatic winding feature is very convienent and the skeleton back is also a nice touch. The hands and face markings even glow in the dark making it easy to read in low light. The band is constructed out of considerable stainless steel and conbined with the safety fold-over clasp makes for a very durable band.

The only minor drawback that I have encountered is that the watch itself runs a little fast and needs to be set back (only by a few minutes) every couple of weeks.

Overall it is a excellent watch that looks great too! If you're looking for a nice diver's watch at a great price this is the one for you.

Summary: Well...........................not worth the worry.
Comment: I bought this watch in early December of 2005. I got it, took the links out, and it worked fine. For about 3 weeks, anyway. While wearing the watch, after winding it earlier that morning, the watch died on me. I had the receipt and shipped it back. I waited for amazon to receive it for almost a month. I am really disappointed with the way amazon handled this. I still have not received a refund or replacement. If you're wanting a reliable watch, this may not be for you. It's a gorgeous watch, however. I just thought it would be more reliable.

Summary: Affordable Automatic
Comment: I just received the Invicta 2248 and so far it seems to be a very good value. The watch is quite solid and has a substantial weight to it. I like the solid links in the bracelet and the display caseback -- the display caseback is quite a nice touch on this low-priced affordable watch. If you are looking for a starter automatic watch, this is one to check out. The movement inside the watch is not Swiss, rather it is Japanese (Miyota 8215). It is a 21 jewel movement and is used in quite a few watches on the market -- so it has proven itself to be reliable and durable. The front and back crystals are mineral, not sapphire. If you want sapphire plus Swiss movement, you can check out the 9937 from Invicta, which costs roughly three times as much as the 2248. For me, I think that for the price of the 2248, I can wear it as usual and if the crystal gets scratched, I can get another one and still have some money in my pocket when compared with the 9937 (plus, I wanted an Omega Seamaster blue-type watch, not a black one. There is no sapphire crystal with Swiss movement watch from Invicta that has a blue bezel). Overall, this is an amazing find for the price.

Summary: Great Watch at an excellent price
Comment: I am extremely impressed with the feel, look and general quality of the watch. It contains the Citizen Miyota 21 jewel automatic movement that is a true workhorse for a fraction of the price. The comfortable stainess steel pinned link bracelet is worth the price of the watch. It has rounded flexible brushed steel wrist links The foldover adjustable double safety clasp uses pins as well. Can easily be mistaken for a watch costing much more. The Mineral Glass crystal is scratch resistant - but not as good as a sapphire watch face, but is less prone to chipping or shattering than a sapphire crystal. The display watchback is also mineral glass - displaying the undecorated Miyota automatic movement. It look as stylish and run as well as my other watches, and, I receive as many comments if not more from the Invicta's. It is a great looking watch! Good value, accurate and stylish if you like the Sub' look. This is a good day-to-day knock about watch that still looks better than the quartz stuff in the same price band. If it lasts 5 years it's more than paid for itself.
